ProVision Athletics is excited to welcome Todd Coburn—nationally recognized as “The Catching Guy”—to Surrey, BC for an exclusive 2-day elite catching camp focused on building complete catchers behind the plate.

This camp is designed for serious players ages 10–16 who want to improve their defensive skills, game awareness, receiving, blocking, and throwing fundamentals through high-level instruction and detailed coaching.

This camp is designed for serious players ages 10–16 who want to improve their defensive skills, game awareness, receiving, blocking, and throwing fundamentals through high-level instruction and detailed coaching.

  • Day One – Receiving & Setups

    • Catching stances and setups

    • Receiving fundamentals

    • Glove presentation

    • Body positioning

    • Game-ready catching movements

    • Blocking introduction (depending on group size)

    Day Two – Blocking & Throwing Fundamentals

    • Blocking technique and recovery

    • Footwork efficiency

    • Transfer and throwing mechanics

    • Arm action and accuracy

    • Pop-time development

    • Game-speed defensive movements

  • Todd Coburn has worked with catchers across North America and is known for his detailed, high-energy teaching style that focuses on real game application. Players will receive hands-on instruction in a competitive learning environment designed to build confidence and improve performance behind the plate.

    • Former All-Conference Catcher at Butte Junior College.

    • Former catcher & Division II College World Series participant at Cal Poly SLO.

    • Two time draft pick by the Houston Astros (Did not sign either year).

    • Former professional catcher in the Philadelphia Phillies Organization.

    • Former collegiate Catching Coach & Strength and Conditioning Coach at Cuesta JC, Cal Poly and the College of Southern Idaho.

    • Former Program Development Coordinator for Velocity Sports Performance (Strength, Speed & Agility Training).

    • Founder & President of Gamer Baseball & The Catching Guy.

    • Over 30 years experience coaching catchers.

    • Master of Science in Kinesiology (Teaching & Coaching Focus)
